CCNF Idris is the middle of 3 full-siblings, all brothers sired by CCNF Centurion and born to his dam, CCNF Mechlin, prior to her untimely passing in the summer of 2018. Idris also has the distinction of being only the 4th animal ever born here to have won Color Championships (meaning the purple ones to be clear) at the prestigious Futurity Show in consecutive years. That fact alone speaks volumes of his level of quality and consistency and is just one more reason why we were so excited at the prospect of adding him into the mix at the CCNF Stud Barn in 2019! He is in fact the first Centurion son to come of age – his 2nd birthday falls on 6/15/19, coincidentally the official start of our in-house breeding season – and make that cut, getting drafted up into our breeding program and will offer us a different riff/angle on the powerful genetics of CCNF Ascension (the Archangel daughter that is dam to both Centurion and his older brother, Elixir) and her über-powerful dam, 5Peruvian Cangalli. Displaying an exceptional staple length on a fleece that is already dense, fine, and bright, combined with the phenotypic characteristics inherited from some of the most beautifully conformed and put-together alpacas in our breeding program’s history – his paternal great grandsire, CCNF Archangel, and his maternal granddam, our dearly departed Delicate Lace – make Idris one to watch. If he suffers from anything here, it is that he is already related to much of our white/light herd, though he is a young Herdsire of such quality that we will inevitably find compatible females for him. Though a bit of a reproductive late bloomer, we are now expecting Idris's first offspring in 2021 and he is available for outside stud service at an introductory rate.
